Kindle 2
There are currently quite a few eBook readers out on the market, however, Amazon has delivered a very usable and user friendly device. The kindle 2 is a solid device with a set of good features and functionality. I have been using the Kindel 2 for over a year and during that year I have used it for Business, Education and Personal enrichment – and just to play around and geekout.
How I continue to use the Kindel 2 :
- Graduate Studies – MBA – I used the Kindel 2 to read 90% of all of my MBA literature, from case studies to books and pdfs. The real advantage to this approach was the ability to underline, take notes and to search across all material. Very useful when it came time to conduct a case analysis – or write the thesis.
- Business Books – There are many business books out there for the Kindle, and what a better way to read them than digitally. Here again, you can underline, take notes and transfer the notes to your computer.
- Meeting Preparation - I was returning from vacation (in the airport 6-8hr flight) and needed to prepare for an important meeting. To accomplish this I needed to research a topic and develop a strategic plan for a client, but I was missing a key resource. In the airport, I was able to access the Kindle store from the Kindel 2 , download the book and read the book on the plane. The result, a targeted presentation that would not have been possible without the Kindel 2.
- Personal – Fiction – Not much to say here but perfect for anywhere!
- Audiobooks – With the Kindel 2 you have the ability to download audiobooks and play them directly on the device – very cool indeed. On that note, you can also download and play MP3′s as well.
- Workout – This is a great device to bring along on your workouts. In fact, this might be one of the perfect applications for the Kindle!
All for now,
Lewis Howell
